Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a project team
  • The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets
  • Oversee and lead in Post contract matters for the entire project from project start to end of warranty, as a support to the project director
  • Oversee and guide the team on quantity take offs, estimation, prepare tender submission, cost planning, sourcing of subcontractors, forecast budgeting, variation orders, final account
  • Assist with preparation of list of prequalified bidders for comparison, cost analysis, negotiation and awarding sub-contractors together with Procurement,
  • First contact point for change requests from customer, work with the project team to develop these into a priced change offer.
  • Working closely together with the Project Director and Contract manager
  • Coordination of legal, fiscal and insurance subjects

Project-internal

  • Managing commercial and legal project subjects, in close cooperation with the Project Director and Contract manager
  • Collaboration with the Project Director/ Project Manager in terms of the project's strategic orientation and its respective internal and external communication
  • Adherence to fiscal, commercial-law and company-internal commercial rules
  • Commercial project coordination (e.g. application for and follow-up of bank guarantees, insurances, etc.) as well as coordination of legal, fiscal and insurance subjects
  • Assistance with preparation of invoices and follow-up of claims
  • Support procurement team with budgets and cashflow
  • Involved in the creation of final project reports and summarization of lessons learned with feedback to the organization
  • Overall handling of fiscal, currency-related aspects and insurance subjects, involving the responsible department and taking into consideration internal business models

Project Contract Management

  • Wording of the commercial and legal contractual conditions with customers, consortium members and subcontractors
  • Ensure all contract notifications, including Change order requests from the customer and subsuppliers, are made within the required time and acknowledged as receipted by other party
  • Involved in negotiations as well as interpretation and implementation of all contracts in projects
  • Analysis and assessment of complex, where applicable international contract constellations
  • Active contract management together with the Project Manager for risks and opportunities
  • Monitor LD’s/penalties for delay and performance. Work together with Contracts Manager on actively avoiding these.
  • Understand the contract with all appendices in details both from a legal and commercial stand point. Get legal support from GEA inhouse legal consultant if required

Claim and change order management

  • Track all change orders submitted, approved and submit monthly summaries for claiming these
  • Manage any contract claims and disputes that may arise
  • Deal with all commercial/legal aspects of change orders

Chance and risk management

  • Identification, documentation, and financial assessment of opportunities and risks, definition and implementation of suitable measures to reduce risks or realize opportunities, and creation of contingencies for remaining risks, active risk and opportunity management
  • Accountable for all commercial matters in your project, e.g. compliance with the terms of delivery and payment, laws and directives, timely invoicing and receivables management
  • Responsible for the continuous evaluation of risk and opportunities
  • Responsible for management of guarantees, bonds and insurance in your assigned project
  • Ensure the participation, progress and monitoring of claim negotiations
  • Responsible for adhering to contractual deadlines

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in engineering.
  • Proven track record in claim management and disputes
  • Financial acumen
  • Commercial contract management experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Excellent problem solving
  • Analytical and negotiation skills

Skills:

  • Participated in large projects with tight schedules
  • General knowledge about engineering, process, fabrication and assembly.
  • Good commercial, legal and financial understanding,
  • Able to foresee and avoid situations where GEA profitability will be at risk.
  • Able to see the bigger and long-term picture
  • Team player,
  • On top of things and not get behind, structure and planning to get tasks done on time.
  • Close coop with: PD, Contracts Manager, Project engineering manager, Process manager, European GEA companies. GEA in house legal consultant
